The greatest show in the snow is looking for volunteers! Join our crew to help in a variety of areas. Gain work experience, learn about events, and enjoy the festival while not on duty. Must be 19 or older to participate.
When are you looking for volunteer support?
We will have a limited number of setup shifts in the days leading up to the event as well as the Monday after, however the majority of our needs fall over the festival weekend, April 5-7.
What is required to volunteer?
Volunteers are asked to work a minimum of 18 hours over the festival, pay a refundable deposit of $100, and leave a valid passport or drivers license until the end of your last shift.
What do I get for volunteering?
In addition to the reward of being part of this destination event, meeting new people and making new friends, you will also receive a Snowbombing t-shirt, one meal voucher per day, and the opportunity to enjoy the festival while not on duty.
How does the refundable deposit work?
We will process a $100 charge before you sign up. Once you have shown up on time for all of your shifts, fulfilled your volunteer duties and abided by festival rules and regulations, your deposit will be refunded shortly after the festival.
How long are shifts?
These vary from 4-8 hours.
How does scheduling work?
All volunteers will be able to self-schedule online using the interactive volunteer portal, choosing your own shifts and assignments based on skillset and availability at the time of scheduling.
Where do I report to for my shift?
Details will be emailed out ahead of time so that everyone knows where to report to for check in.
What should I wear for my volunteer shifts?
Layers are the key! Many volunteer shifts are outside in the elements. Make sure to dress appropriately for working outside and getting around in the snow.
Is transportation and accommodation included?
No, volunteers are responsible for their own accommodation and transportation to and from Sun Peaks. Reach out to the volunteer email ahead of time to book your room: SBCSunPeaks@gmail.com
Can I volunteer with my friends?
Totally! We encourage you to sign up with friends so you can share the experience and enjoy the festival in your off time together.
What if there’s an artist I have to see?
A. We get it, but this means that volunteering is not for you. Although volunteers will get to enjoy the festival when off duty, we can’t guarantee that it will be while your DJ of choice plays. If you can’t miss out, opt out.
